Getting there
By air
There is a daily departure operated by Olympic airways from Athens airport which takes thirty minutes. Timetables vary depending on the seasons, and it may be necessary to have a night in Athens as the Olympic flight normally departs in the morning.
By sea
From Athens airport there is easy access to the port of Pirareus either by bus, train or taxi, where you have daily ferries departing for all of the islands including Naxos. We highly recommend booking tickets in advance, particularly during high season and holiday periods, as it makes the journey easier. Please also note that the high-speed ferries are the best option as they only take approximately three and a quarter hours to Naxos. Normal ferries can take up to seven hours. See our recommendations under Links to book tickets. |
